A Brief History of Car Components.
Car Components in Gosport, Hampshire have been serving Portsmouth and the
surrounding areas since 1953.Their main priority has always been to provide
an efficient service and a wide variety of vehicles and vehicle spares at
affordable prices.
The company has seen many changes in its' 47 years.Started by James Fry and
Jack Burnett in 1953, the management was passed on to James's nephews Roger
and Nigel Fry in 1969.Always a family run business, Car Components currently
employs three generations of the Fry family.Not only have personnel changes
taken place, but Car Components pride themselves on awareness of current
demands and trends in the trade and also ever changing technology.
A visit to Car Components should dispell any myths of the general idea of
"scrap yards".Their modern computer network means that pinpointing required
parts for customers takes a matter of seconds ensuring that the correct part
is available for that clients vehicle.
Not only do Car Components sell dismantled vehicle parts, but also damaged
repairable vehicles.If you have the resources this can prove to be an
economic way of purchasing your dream car.All our vehicles are bought from
reputable Insurance companies and thus, if placed in category C or D can
repaired and put back on the road.
Car Components is a long standing member of the Motor Vehicle Dismantlers
Association, and the Automotive Recyclers Association
(an international body whose aims include the protection of the
environment.)The company is also a founder member of the National Salvage
Group,NSG.The NSG has worked intensively with its' members to instigate the
notification of detruction which ensures that any severely damaged vehicles
can not be repaired and put back on the road.
Environmental issues are extremely relevant to the nature of Car Components
work.Recycling is at present a big issue.Some of the benefits of recycling
are self explanatory.:
1.No use of new raw materials (metal components are recycled.)
2. Saves energy and resources required to produce new vehicle components.
3. The cost of a recycled part is less expensive than new.
